The patriotic-military show at the Indian-Pakistani border is a must-see attraction. We take a tourist bus from the center of Amritsar to the border with Pakistan. The border crossing is in the towns of Wagah (Pakistan) and Attari (India). The round-trip ticket price for the bus is 350 rupees per person. The changing of the guard is a spectacular theatrical performance designed to ignite patriotic feelings in the large audience on both sides of the border. The show is very well-prepared by both sides, with remarkable synchronization between Indian and Pakistani uniformed personnel. The soldiers must have practiced a lot together. It’s interesting to wonder if the exercises included insults and demeaning gestures, which the Indian uniformed showman directed towards the Pakistani border during the show.

The show is a very attractive performance, starting on the Indian side with the dance of Hindu women to the rhythms of music from Bollywood dance films. The dance is very natural and sensual. After the disco, the theatrical parade of uniformed personnel begins. They energetically lifted their legs, arms, and swords high. The same and at the same pace were done by the Pakistanis. Perfect synchronization. During the performance, the chief Hindu showman waved his fists towards Pakistan, symbolically trampled that country with his foot, shouting insults. The superb show lasts about 30 minutes before sunset, plus 15 minutes of dancing at the beginning. There is no comparison to the ordinary parades in Europe.
