Peles castle – Sinaia
We said ‘good bye’ to Bukovina and went south to Sinaia. Sinaia is famous Romanian mountain resort. It is located not far away from Bucharest. It attracts rich people from the capitol of Romania. There are many hiking trails and telecabin (cable cars) in Bucegi Mountains. It is a very good destination for hikers.

Peles castle is a must destination and Sinaia. The castle was built in the 19th/20th century. It is stunning inside and outside. The tickets are expensive (40 lei – ground level, 80 lei (ground and upper level). Buy a ticket at least for the ground level. It is worth the money.

Bucegi mountains
I recommend a one-day mountain trip to the highest peak of the Bucegi mountains – Omu (2505 m above sea level). There are a few routes to the summit. The longest and most difficult one starts from Busteni and takes all day. The second options is longer than the first one but not so steep. It also very long trek. The third option is the easiest one. Take a telecabine to the last stop (2000 m asl) and go along the yellow trail (very well marked) to the Omu peak. Telecabin is costly. One way costs 75 lei, and return 140 lei. It takes about 3 hours form the top telecabin station to the Omu peak. We had bad luck and the weather was terrible. It was heavy raining and we had to come to the telecabin after one hour of trek. Although we didn’t reach Omu peak :(, we saw cool rock formations carved by the wind, one of them looks like sphinx.
